Course description: In each meeting, the course instructor and participants will discuss a participant’s patient’s dreams. The goal is for integration between the logical and the playful-imaginative as we proceed inward to the heart of the dream and outward to the relationship between dream and clinical work. Clinical and theoretical considerations  and readings will be introduced in the context of the dream discussion as will ideas drawn from Interpersonal, Freudian, Jungian, ecopsychological and shamanic orientations.Course objective: The participants will have a broader perspective and will feel more comfortable in working with their patients’ dreams.

Bibliography: Readings will be introduced as we proceed.

About the instructor: Paul Lippmann, Ph.D. is Training and Supervising Analyst at the William Alanson White Psychoanalytic Institute. He is in the private practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts., is Director of the Stockbridge Dream Society and is affiliate faculty at the Austen Riggs Center. He is author of numerous papers on dreams and of Nocturnes: On Listening to Dreams, 2000, Analytic Press.
